- Is ReUnite a rehabilitation center?
- No. ReUnite is a resource, education, and residential counseling center aimed at redeeming mothers and reuniting them with children they have lost to court-ordered foster or kinship care. Through counseling, training and Bible studies, the goal is ending the destructive behaviors that contributed to their children’s removal from their custody.
- What classes are taught at ReUnite?
- Parenting (These courses are available to custodial parents and women working to regain custody of their children.)

- How is ReUnite funded?
- ReUnite Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded primarily through charitable giving.
THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ARE GEARED TO THOSE INTERESTED IN OUR RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM:
- What are the qualifications for entering the ReUnite residential program?
- Children are in foster or kinship care
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Cannot be pregnant.
- No violent criminal charge or conviction.
- Must pass the D&A screen on the day of admission. Subsequent screens will be administered throughout participation in the program.
- Commit to a multi-month stay at the ReUnite home.
- How much do residents pay to be in the ReUnite program?
- The program is free.
- What type of counseling services are offered to ReUnite residents ?
- Each mom has a unique set of needs. The Director of Counseling ensures that each resident has adequate counseling time and required follow up. Most sessions are weekly and can last up to 2 hours.
- Do residents receive any other classes and training?
- Residents are required to complete training in the following areas:
- Budgeting/Finance
- Health & Fitness
- Home Management
- Cooking/Meal Planning
- First Aid/CPR
- Work Readiness
- General Auto Care
- Organization
- Gardening
- Self Defense
- Bible Study
- May residents work while living at ReUnite?
- Outside work will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
- May women bring their child(ren) to live with them at ReUnite?
- No. However, ReUnite does permit on-site visits, including supervised, unsupervised and overnight stays, per court order.
- Does ReUnite permit on-site visits with fiancées, boyfriends or children’s fathers?
- No. Other than for repairmen, men are not allowed to visit the ReUnite home.
- Are residents allowed to leave the premises?
- Residents may leave the premises for services, classes, doctor’s appointments and time with their mentor and children. All time away from the center must be preapproved by the Director.
- May residents have their own transportation/cars while living at ReUnite?
- Yes, residents may have their vehicles at ReUnite; however, they will pay for insurance, SMART Start fees, if required, fuel, oil changes and other maintenance and repairs.
- Will ReUnite provide transportation, if a resident needs it?
- Yes. ReUnite volunteers transport moms to and from appointments, church services and work. Volunteers do not transport children.
- Must residents do chores?
- Yes. Mothers must assist with general cooking, cleaning and laundry chores. They are also responsible for cleaning their own rooms and doing their own laundry.
- Are residents required to go to church?
- Yes. Sunday church attendance is mandatory, as is weekly participation in the Celebrate Recovery program at RIO Revolution Church in Maryville, Tennessee, on Tuesday nights. Residents are encouraged to attend Celebrate Recovery 12-Step classes when openings occur.
